FASTENER TRAINING WEEK Los Angeles, CA Single-Day Classes for 2026 The Fastener Training Institute (FTI) is excited to announce Fastener Training Week in Los Angeles. This Fastener Training Week session offers five days of training spread across August, November and December – providing a more flexible schedule. After completion and passing a final exam, students earn Certified Fastener Specialistdesignation. Day 1: Aug 12 - Fastener Specifications and Terminology Day 2: Aug 13 - Understanding the Bolted Joint Day 3: Nov 11 - Dimensional and Material Specifications Day 4: Nov 12 - Plating & Coating, Print Comprehension, Fastener Quality, and Intro to Fastener Failures Day 5: Dec 10 - Fastener Manufacturing Plant Tours INSTRUCTOR: Laurence Claus, Director of Education and Training, Industrial Fastener Institute LOCATION: TBA. Classes will be held in the Anaheim area DAY 4: Plating & Coating, Print Comprehension, Fastener Quality, and Intro to Fastener Failures Thursday, November 12, 2026 COURSE OVERVIEW: Whether you are a fastener distributor, importer, manufacturer or end-user, knowing about fastener quality can prevent a lot of problems. This hands-on training teaches about sampling plans and instrument calibration, including how to use prints and specifications for inspection and a review of test reports. The course covers quality programs and system requirements, thread inspection, dimensional inspection and inspection of recesses and drives. CURRICULUM: Essential elements of a fastener supplier (QMS) The most important fastener quality standards Risk management – what you must inspect and what you can inspect When and how to get outside help Fastener supply chain and essential records Understanding fastener certifications and test reports How to best communicate with other quality professionals Most common causes of fastener quality complaints and how to prevent them How to develop the fastener quality professional within you Fastener quality technical resources What gets us in trouble WHO SHOULD ATTEND: The program is advanced and technical. Participants should have at least two years of experience in fastener sales, purchasing, manufacturing or quality assurance or complete FTI’s three-part Product Training Program in advance. REGISTRATION INCLUDES: A full day of training in a small-group environment; training materials to take back to work; continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments; and a certificate of completion with eligibility for Certified Fastener Specialist™ designation. Please note: Each participant is REQUIRED to bring a calculator. PRICING INFORMATION: Prices are per person; company groups or teams are encouraged to attend.
