Basics of Aerospace Fasteners and Fastener Standards 101 - Aerospace Version: “Exploring the World of Aerospace and Defense Standards” February 13 and February 14, 2023 Basics of Aerospace Fasteners Date: February 13, 2023 Time: 9:00am - 4:30pm PST, with lunch provided Location: Marriott Courtyard Santa Ana Instructor: Laurence Claus, IFI Director of Training Course Details: This course explores the basics of aerospace fasteners. Topics will include why aerospace fasteners are unique in the fastener world, how an aircraft is put together and the fasteners used to accomplish this, why exotic metals are commonly used, and a look at a variety of different fastener types used in aerospace. Although often looking “the same,” upon completing this course participants should have a better understanding of how aerospace fasteners are different than those for other industrial purposes. This is a fast-paced basic course and excellent for anyone relatively new to the industry, anyone having made a role change that would benefit from a general overview of the industry, or anyone who wishes to learn more about the aerospace fasteners. Topics will include: How aerospace fasteners are different Parts of an airplane and how it’s put together Aerospace materials such as titanium, aluminum, and nickel superalloys Aerospace fastener types such as bolts and screws, wrenchable nuts, lock bolts, pins and collars, anchor plates, inserts, and panel fasteners Requirements to be an aerospace fastener supplier Who Should Attend? Anyone new to aerospace fasteners, especially roles in engineering, quality, purchasing or sales Those interested in learning more about aerospace fasteners Pricing Information: Click here to register Register by December 31, 2022 for early-bird pricing of $498 per day ($996 for both days). After December 31, 2022, the cost increases to $550 per day ($1100 for both days).
